Fine, you...you...slacker whacker!
Developed a bum wing Saturday doing hang cleans. Some tweak in my shoulder, so only some jump squats and biceps beautification for that day.
Sunday, plyometrics in the morning and a nice long hike with the family in the afternoon.
Monday, 3-mile...um...run? followed up with some sprints.
Tuesday, squats. As in, Jack Squat.
This morning, I tried some bench work, really light to test the shoulder--no good. So, moderately fast squats with 255 on board; tried deadlifting light, but the shoulder put the brakes on at 205. Suck. Some triceps and core to finish.
Today, nuthin yet. Running again tonight.
If the weather brightens a bit, I'll start throwing in earnest this Saturday. Fortunately, my left shoulder is the goofy one, so I can at least hit stone and WFD.
Promise I'll get better about posting. Thanks for the whack!

Hm. Bum wing bad. Hope it decides to heal up quickly.
As an aside, I couldn't run three miles right now for the prize of tripling my retirement savings.

Crappy, crappy week.
My shoulder got so rough that the jarring and slight lifting of my arm that I'd do while running became nasty enough that I took Thursday through yesterday off completely. I've vegged for a week before, but it sucks when you actually want to do stuff. Wedged myself into bed at night so I wouldn't put pressure on either shoulder.
The bad news: My wife is pissed and running on very little sleep because I snore like a drunken grizzly when I'm flat on my back.
The good news: 3 sets of 95# power cleans and overhead press went fine this morning. Slight discomfort at the top of the cleans and midway through the presses, but I think I can manage it if I keep things this light for awhile. Onward.

Yo Trog- one thing that will help you with your athletic endeavors is someone who can teach you good body mechanics. We have no real idea how to use our bodies...

futon hell, earplugs are where it's at.
I snore when I drink or when I'm forced to take muscle relaxers. Since we are in the middle of the Florida throwing season, the muscle relaxers are getting more play than the booze.
She snores when she drinks, or when she has a cold.
So we both stock up on the earplugs and use them.
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude

Twelve days and no update.....I'm starting to worry about you, here. I hope your shoulder is cooperating.

LitTrog: I hope this post catches you feeling/doing better. I'm no athlete, but I used to cross train with mountain biking, downhill skiing, and weight lifting. Sometimes you just have to "back off", rest, relax, think about something else, etc.
If you can't sleep on your shoulder(s), that is not a good sign. I further suggest seeing a doctor and, perhaps, an athletic trainer for their input. Nothing recreational is worth damaging body parts long term, maybe even permanently.
I truly hope this advice is unnecessary, and that you're laughing at me as you read this. Take it easy. I am looking forward to your inimitable humor in some thread or another.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I saw signs today that Mister LitTrog is alive and reasonably well. His sense of humour appears to be intact, though I have no information on his shoulder. He claims that he's ugly and smells bad so I think it probably IS him and not his kid, logged into his account and posing as him.
...though we can't be SURE.
