New style of Bowmore hose for 2013

You may recall that I had mentioned previously that House of Cheviot had changed the style of their Bowmore hose for the 2013 catalog. I'm pleased to say that I have some of the new style here in the US and they are available to be ordered by your favorite Highland dress retailers.

I hope people like the new style. It's a simpler design, much in the spirit of some of the checker-board top hose worn by Prince Charles.

I still have some of the old style of Bowmore on hand, but those will only be available while stock lasts.

Here is the new style. I hope you enjoy!

Do the new ones come in a red with blue? What was the price again?

    Father,
The colors available are what is shown. The price would be the same as the old Bowmore, around the $60 to $65 price range, but you may find some variation among different retailers.

They should fit the same range of calf sizes as most House of Cheviot hose, which is to say comfortably up to 17" or 18". For anything much larger I recommend the Harris hose (or the new line of Pipe Band hose you will be seeing more info soon on), which can go up to 26".

They are actually not that large, it may just be a trick of the photography. The three ewes you see in the top photo are between two and three years old and nearly full grown. They weigh probably close to 50lbs and not likely to get much bigger.

In the second photo they are joined by our wee ram who is not quite a year and still has some growing to do. When full size he may reach 80lbs or so.

Say are one of the smaller sheep breeds which is perfect for us.

In any case they make a wonderful backdrop!
