A funny thing happend on the way to the kiltmaker or how I got two kilts

Many months ago I had orderd a 5yd box pleat kilt in a custome weave in willson's colors of an artifact MacKay tartan.A run of the mill order for Mr. Newsome and as no stranger to ordering kilts my self I settled down for a long jones, when the unthinkable happend..... there were two tartans with the same name but totaly different in every other way,What to do?Well after a couple of Emails I went with The one from the SRT and settled back into my jones.....When the REALLY unthinkable happend,The weaver had made the other tartan and 6yds of homeless tartan was now sitting in his shop lonely.Well this time I knew there was only one thing to do and I was the man to do it,so I hitched up my kilt and ordered a 6yd knife pleat to be made out of that lonely tartan and would give it a good home for the rest of it's life.So after now a double jones and a fair amount of use here they are in all their glory, the MacKay plaid and it's Danny DeVito like twin.

    And the knife pleat

I ordered from New House Highland because of WELL EARNED reputation he has,and was not in ANY WAY disappointed or found ANYTHING in this whole process that would or could tarnish the quality of workmanship or service of MR. Newsome, in fact I felt he went out of his way to help me with this order and in so doing confirmed why he is so respected.

Same name, but very different is right! However, they both look outstanding. Love the muted colors.

I'm with Ken. I don't know how you survived that terrible ordeal and only ended up with two kilts. "The horror! The horror!"

By the way, very nice looking outfits - handsome jackets, sporran, belt, and cap.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

    Mookin,
the belt was made by Donnie at Wyvern Leather works, I'd post a link to that thread if I knew how,but the buckle was given to me by the U.S. nordic Paralimpic team.
