If I had ordered a size 48, I don't think I could get it buttoned without putting some strain on it. I'm 6'3" and 230 - 250 lbs depending on what day of the week it is. In fact, I'm going to have to make a concerted effort to keep some weight off until after my Daughter's wedding. Otherwise the vest isn't going to work.

That's one of the reasons I like closer fitting clothes. The fit feedback hits fast when my head has been in the hog trough too much. Like the "holiday season" pounds I almost have back off - takes longer every year.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

I have their Argyll jacket and vest combo, and it fits just fine. As others have said, it's european sizing, so if you usuallly get a 42R in the US, buy a 44R (one size up). That's what I did, and am perfectly content.

It's a very reasonable product for the price Rocky is charging. Of course, there's always better stuff out there, but they will also be more expensive. The fabric is a little stiff at first, but softens up, and holds its shape well.

You have to keep in mind this is an off-the-rack item. If it's something you don't wear too often, it'll be just fine. if you want something more specific, or with a specific material, go custom. I wear mine maybe every other month on average, and am happy.

I have and Argyll, an it's a beautiful jacket/vest combo. Top notch quality, made in Scotland. Funny, but I went up in a size, from 42 R to 44 R, and the jacket was fine. However, the vest was sized more like a 46+, so I returned it for a 42 R and that worked out just fine. Great service and products from USA Kilts!
