USA Kilts ??
Does anyone have one of their Argyll Vests? If so, are they of good quality and fit ? Any other issues ?
Thanks...

I have one of their tweed argylll jacket and waistcoat combo. Yes they are a good quality, being made by the StKilda Group of companies. It is a good fit for a standard off the rack. As with all clothing, if you want a perfect fit, you go with custom tailoring.

Thanks for the reply. I probably wouldn't wear it often enough to justify a custom tailored vest. I just wanted a satisfied customer to verify that I won't be making a mistake in ordering one.
I appreciate it...

I have an 'Argyll' tweed jacket and waistcoat (in a brown check tweed by Lovat Mill in their medium weight, Kirkton range) currently on order with Rocky at USA Kilts and I highly recommend them. Rocky is very personable and is all business. I am a stickler for detail and having things done to my (often weird/OCD) specifications, so trust me, USA Kilts is a very good route to go.

Thank You Very Much!! I just ordered the vest. USA Kilt was recommended to me, but I wasn't certain. And wanted some opinions, such as yours. You have allayed my apprehension...

You will be happy, no doubt. USAK does great work and has excellent quality items. I also have a tweed jacket and vest combo, but mine are made to measure as well. However, I would still recommend their stuff even off the rack (and have been eyeballing their black argyle/vest off the rack myself).

Wow! Amazingly fast shipping. I received the vest today, and I couldn't be more pleased. It fits like it was tailored for me. I am very impressed! They recommend that you order a size larger, as they run a bit small. I wear a size 48 jacket , so I ordered a size 50 and it's perfect.

It's not so much that they run small. It's more that European fit is about a size closer to the body. US jacket sizes reflect the general US preference for a loose fit. I prefer a close fit so, unless it is a fitted motorcycle jacket, I order 2 inches smaller.
I ordered a summer weight with stretch Argyll jacket and vest from USAK in my actual chest size knowing this. Oh boy, just checked when - about 8 weeks ago - the jonesing can commence as it is close to being sent.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.
