    Kyle and Wil: While the technique Matt illustrates works well with "long-enough" garters (like those sold through the Scottish Tartans Museum and Comfy Kilt Hose!), it doesn't always with shorter garters (like those that often come in combination with House of Cheviot's hose). Of course, all that depends a lot on your calf diameter. For "shorter" garters I have successfully employed a simpler technique similar, but not identical, to that described by Chas.
