" I started off reading the does and dont's and then evolved into what I do now. "
I think that's great advice, as long as you are somewhat cognizant of the "does and don'ts" and evolve based on your own style and needs.
I saw a fellow at our last Games who was wearing a SportKilt, T-shirt, and sandals. Fine so far -- except he also had the elastic garters and matching tartan flashes fixed 'round his bare legs. Deliberate fashion choice, or "they came with the kilt so I guess I need to wear them" mis-step? I didn't stop him to ask. . .

That made me lol. Sounds a bit like something my husband would try to do after a bit of drinking... he has a skewed sense of humor.
TR, I think you look very nice except I would, as other have said, loose the jacket. It's length covers too much of that handsome kilt and you in it.

For a long time I've been on the hunt for a jacket, not a kilt jacket, to wear at events like Highland Games, Keltfest etcetera. Last week I was able to buy a Ralph Lauren Mohawk Estate jacket for half the price. It's got the good length, and it's got that "hunting/military" look, but in an understated way. To my eye, the jacket is the only thing that is slightly too formal for what you've put together.

I agree with everyone else's "looking good." I would second the other poster that said maybe consider replacing the jacket with a waistcoat/vest. I think it would fit in great with the look you have going on there and it would be more comfortable in the heat during the games and at concerts. Other than that, like I said first, looking good.

Everyone here has offered sound advice. I will merely echo the support and say that it looks good. Great job. When my kilt arrives, I hope I can display as well you as you have.
