    That blue "sash" is actually the Swedish Order of the Seraphim. The cordon, or broad ribband of the Garter is worn crossing the body from the left shoulder to the right hip in the same manner as the Order of the Thistle worn by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.
