Lovely car, Steve. Shame it's an automatic. Still envious, though!

There were no manual transmissions offered with the 6.0 liter V-12 engine between May of 1992 and the end of the S-Series in 1996. Some of the 6 cylinder cars had the GM4L80E gearbox with 4th gear overdrive. It was found that a manual gearbox was not a good match to the massive V-12 engine.

This car is very deceiving. It looks, when standing still or parked, to be a small sports car. It is in fact a full size luxury touring car.
Wheel base of 102 in.(2591mm), 191.7 in(4869mm) long, and 70.6 in(1793mm) wide. That's about the same size as a Ford F-150 pick-up. But only 47.8 in (1214mm) high. Drive past a city bus and all you see are lug nuts.
Like many Jaguar cars the front bonnet looks like an aircraft carrier flight deck from the driver's position.

I once watched a tuned V-12 have a US nickle placed on edge atop the bonnet. The engine was then quickly rev'ed to 8000 rpm and dropped. The Nickle did not move. Heck the speedometer goes to 280 kmh (173.9 mph). You can't go that fast even in Montana any more.

I just love the look on young guys faces when they try to get me to race between lights. I just smile and pull out slowly and smoothly. Much more impressive to know you can trounce them and don't have to prove it.

Congrats, Steve! A lovely lass indeed! We've had our first ragtop in over 30 years for about a month now ('08 Mini Cooper S R52). It's almost too much fun!

    Enjoy!

Congratulations, Steve. She sure is a beauty. In my humble opinion, there is no better driver's car in the world than a Jaguar. A work of Art ~ the perfect mix of Grace, Pace, Beauty & Style. Truly a Gentleman's Motor ~ the perfect match for the Kilt ~ so easily dressed up or down to suit every occasion.

Mine is a 3 Litre S-Type 2001 in British Racing Green called Lucretia, after my beloved Grandmother. Even with 125K on the clock, she sails through the Highland roads like a hot knife through butter.

Welcome to the Club. Enjoy the Ride!

So, okay, Steve, you get to make kilts for a living. And you live in one of the more stunningly gorgeous cities on the planet. Now you have to add to the jealousy factor with that car?

Nice ride! Enjoy it, and may SWMBO be pleased.

Fantastic car Steve! You should have a lot of fun with that. Yes, you do need KILT related plates on it.
