Again....I find myself quoting the "scaffy witch" from Brave......."Ooooooohhhh, That's lovely that is!"
I really like the larger setts personally.

Me too. Such a fine tartan and HRH Prince Charles can be seen wearing it in another colour scheme. I've often considered this particular tartan to be my first choice if I ever decide to have a kilt made up in a non-Macpherson/Chattan sett. I like it in the ancient colours, but I'm sure I would like it even better in Wilson's. Though, I will admit, the reproduction/weathered version is very smart too!

KC, I have a kilt in the Old sett Stewart tartan in the modern colors. Here are a couple of pics of it but un fortunately the blue does not show up that well in the pictures. The background in the squares alternate between blue and green. I am particularly fond of it because it is a Stewart tartan, (my clan) but is not considered a universal tartan.

KC, here is what "figheadair told me very recently about the Stewart old sett.

"There are obviously many Stewart/Stuart sett to choose from but the Old Stewart is thought to have a much older association although its exact origins are uncertain. D C Stewart was of the opinion that it had claim to be other oldest of the Stewart tartans".

Also note that mine is pleated to the sett. A full sett comprises 4 of the squares between the red over stripes. Note that each one of the four is a slightly different size and shape.
