Greetings.
My brother in law retired recently after many years driving buses in South Yorkshire, and in his spare time he often assisted in the restoration of - old buses!! It kept him out of mischief for many decades. Now my sister has him towing a caravan about to places of interest with scenic bike rides, in the hope of keeping the status quo.
I hope that we will have the pleasure of your company here, though it does tend to cut into the time available for making things.

Hello Mitch, and welcome to X Marks from Delaware (or as some would say, "Dela, where?"), USA. Thank you for that nice introduction.
I see you have discovered the heart of this forum, "passion" about the kilt and all things related to Scottish attire in all it's forms. With your many interests and experiences with different types of kilts and kit, you will certainly be an asset to this forum.
I'm glad you decided to join the kilted rabble and look forward to a blether as well (not sure what that is but, I know it's good).

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle.
