Ace pictures Nile. A crackin' people watching set. I liked the pipers, I loved the dancer's action shots, but I particularly liked the lady in the long, red, medieval-style dress wearing the New Balance trainers.

I must admit I need to get my glasses checked. When I first saw your thread title, I read it as "Cheapskate Celtic Festival" and had visions of an array of chaps in wrap around kilt towels, 'see you Jimmy' hats and swigging from bottles of Coatbridge table wine. I'm pleased to see I was mistaken.

Thanks very much for posting these, I really enjoyed them.

Good one, John. I had one of those moments (for me, it's a senior moment) recently when I told folks that we were going to see the Red Hot Chilly Peppers when it was the "... Chilly Pipers".

Anyway, we were surprised by how few kilts we saw this year. It seems that in the past, there were lot of kilt, especially utility kilts.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle.
