My first tweed

Tweed and kilts certainly go together well. I am sure your first won't be your last. Smart looking tweed, and you cannot beat the price.

It only needs cuffs and epaulettes if you think it needs them. Also, those look like patch pockets. You might consider raising them a little higher on the jacket, but it looks just fine the way it is. Congratulations.

Here's the final product. Great learning project. Good enough for a pub, but I'll practice more for the "formal" one.

Side note: When the dentist prescribes pain meds, one epaulette Will be slightly shorter than the other.

Thank you gents! Do you think the entire pocket or just the bottom edge?

The coat started as a 46 long so I had to move the pockets once already. Actually, I moved the flaps, cut down the old pockets, sewed them on.....and realized they really do need to be a touch higher. I'll have to take them off and cut them down some more to do that. Don't mind the process, it is a training project, but since it's all hand needle work, I'm going to have to find a little more motivation.
