Yes, I have my eye on that one presently (shhhh!!! Hahaha!). I plan to bid on it, yet if it goes too high, I'll back out. It's not in the best condition (fur/taxidermy issues and the right eye needs to be redone), yet if I do win the auction at a good price, I'll definitely send it off to Kate Macpherson in Inverness-shire, so she can work her "magic" on it.

DK , Kyle , I seen that one as well . I am not a bidder , but when I seen it ... I thought to myself , that has potential to the right person . Kyle , I hope you get it at a good price as it deserves to be properly brought back to life ( i.e. Kate Macpherson ) .
Cheers , Mike

I hope Kyle gets it too Mike. I know how long he has been after one and there would be no doubt kyle would have it brought back to pristine condition.

I'm following the ratty cat sporran too, but now that I know Kyle has been on the hunt for one, I'll leave it to him and hope for some brass cantle karma. Best of luck, on the auction. Besides, given that I'd mostly wear it in Canada, it would probably upset a lot of people since the Scottish Wildcat and the North American short haired tabby house cat bear a striking resemblance. My fox already causes quite a stir...
Touch not the cat bot a glove, buddy!

Cheers, gents! Thank you for the kind words of encouragement. The current bidding price has jumped considerably, so I'm sure I will be in for quite the "ride" over the next 5 days. We shall see what happens.
Best wishes,

It is quite a markup, however, the seller is now asking 500 quid less than the original starting bid when the sporran was on eBay last month (see post #59 above). I have contacted the seller to see if he is willing to negotiate on a price, since I really, really like this particular Scottish Wildcat sporran with the plain brass cantle. It appears to be in good nick too!
Thanks KiltFitz,

So my latest ebay acquisitions arrived today and I was burned! I purchased two tweed day jackets from the same seller. One was Harris Tweed and the other came with a matching waistcoat.
The only problem was the measurements he listed were WAY off! They were meant to be gifts for my brothers but now I'm out the purchase and shipping costs and have very smart looking boy sized garments. Of course I took out my tape and verified that it wasn't just my lack of attention to detail. So not cool!

You might consider offering them up for sale to the rabble...
