That's a great idea, Tulloch!
Grizzly - dunno if it _actually_ has vanilla in it. I'm always baffled by descriptions of wines and beers - "an afternote of citrus", yada yada yada, even though it has zip citrus in it.

I know what you mean Barb, beer should be made from malted barley, yeast, hops and water. No strawberries, bananas, mangoes, pineapples or fruit of any kind, if the finished beer reminds you of a fruit on the nose or on the palate then that is the skill of the brewer and nothing to do with the addition of a superfluous fruit.

Good point there Simon, but I do tend to get sick of having to carry a spoon around with me to scoop the ice-cream head off the beer before I can sample the fluid.

Absolutely right Mike. Quarter of an inch is plenty and over here the head should not count as part of the pint, that's why we now have oversize pint glasses to accommodate a bit of head. ( no sniggering at the back! )

Hi Barb,
Did you try the Pomegranate Margarita while you were there?
All the best to you and Dave, and the expanded family,

Grizzly:
When I was in New Zealand, they used to call a pint with a large amount of foam at the top a "good, Catholic beer." I asked and they told me: it was a beer wearing a nice wide, white collar on it. Then they'd pour another.

Barb,
Thanks for the "heads up". Our family did a little bicycle trip today and wound up having lunch at our local Rock Bottom Brewery…
…the beer in question proved quite tasty!
Cheers

Plus one. Thank you for the heads-up, Barb.
Also, Jamie, our dogs could be siblings!

Wee Heavy Scotch Ale A sweet and malty scotch ale, with very slight bitterness and restrained hoppiness - it’s just a wee heavy. Great with fruits, pork, and the bagpipes.
Roosterfish Brewery in Watkins Glenn, NY make this - it's pretty tasty!
