Read, look at the pictures and ask questions-----no question is stupid if you don't know the answer------read some more. look at pictures and understand what you are looking at(beware, some pictures are far from helpfull) ask more questions. Keep doing it until you understand exactly what you want---------and then spend your money.

Chas and Jock have excellent advice. For some visuals, take a look at 1 Kilt 10 Looks : A Visual Guide to Formality in Highland Attire

There is much discussion on hose color, but remember that you are not matching the kilt, but complementing your outfit.

What Chas and Jock said. My wife is descended from the Robertsons of Struan and her ancestors hail from Strathtay, Perth and Kinross (near Dunkeld). She is a proud member of Clann Dhònnchaidh.

    Welcome to the forum, mate!

    Cheers,

Welcome to XMarks from just south of Albany NY. Tattersall shirts with regimental ties look great with tweed kilt jackets (and waistcoats). Cheers! Frank

Stay on this site for a while and you will end up rethinking even those purchases you made after a lot of thinking, and then add more to your wardrobe .

And since you asked, dark blue and green goes well with mustard yellow.
