I'll be marching in the parade with the Shot of Scotch highland dancers.

Just a bump for this thread as I've seen several mentions in various threads from other members who will be attending this event.
I will be at the Perfect Pint, 123 W 45th St, just off 6th Ave around 1:00 PM before the parade. If you are of a mind just look for me in the Buchanan kilt. The Parade kicks off at 2:00 PM just a block away.
Note: For the purist, we used to go to the St. Andrews Pub up on 46th but we have found it to be just too crowded the last few years and the Perfect Pint is a really nice pub.

It looks to be a great event this year! We have a Macpherson contingent that marches every year. I hope to make it sometime soon! It would be wonderful to return to New York City. Perhaps even pop in at Brooks Brothers' flagship store on Madison Avenue and do a wee bit of shopping for Kinloch Anderson/Brooks Brothers items. The best of both worlds!
Enjoy and Happy Tartan Day!
Cheers,

Just checking on the site the after party is not at Stout this year, which hopefully means staying away from that dreadful staircase. I still plan on being there, and a stop at The Perfect Pint sounds like a fine idea.

I just might have to stop at both places, the Perfect Pint and St. Andrews.

I see that St. Andrews is doing a Scottish Breakfast that morning which will certainly add to the crowd. But it's a great pub and the crowd will be all wired up.

I was at Ellis Island today for what was ostensibly the opening event for Tartan Week. It was a pretty subtle "Opening Event."
The Clan Currie sponsored exhibit, "Scots in the American West," about the various cowboys with Scots heritage featured a hosting Clan Currie member dressed in cowboy hat and a fringed leather jacket featuring turquoise details with a Clan Currie kilt, and I couldn't help thinking about the nine pages of debate about whether or not I should wear a baseball cap!

Cheers,
Kyle, I just got back from a six-week assignment in NY, and I made a point to visit the Brooks Brothers Store on Madison. The Kinloch-Anderson items are on the 6th floor. Not much is displayed, but if you fit into off-the-rack kit, you'd have a small selection of jackets to try on. The purpose of this store is to take measurements and send off to K-A in the UK. There were a couple of leather sporrans, belts, cuff-links, canes, and a flask or two for purchase; and jackets to try on - that was it.
