    Hello again Cessna,

I would certainly be interested in attending one year. Do you have any pictures or videos? I completely agree with the alcohol comment. What kind of outfits do you normally get in attendance?

    Kind regards

Here's a link to some photos from last year's Sunday gathering at Harpenden.
Last year my wife and I arrived in Harpenden around lunchtime on the Saturday so would have been willing to join others for an evening meal if something had been arranged.

However, the middle of the country is not Harpenden chaps. It's not even the middle of England let alone the UK. On the other hand we could move it round the UK.

If it includes a celiedh, I would suggest keeping the dress code informal. If it's a dinner dance, make it black tie.

Supporting a charity sounds like a good idea, perhaps asking people to donate kilt-related items to a charity auction.

I would support this if I am available.

EnglishBloke organised a kilt night in his home town of Preston, Lancashire a few years ago which was very enjoyable but unfortunately only four of us were able to attend.
I only suggested Harpenden because of its good transport links and because quite a few xmarkers already go there annually for the Harpenden gathering.

    Hello BCAC

As mentioned in point 3. I wouldn't really want to restrict it to just xmarkers the more the merrier in my opinion! Hopefully something will happen!

Thank you for the links and comments folks.

Cessna if ever an event in Preston were to happen again that would be great I am in Liverpool but have family in Lancashire

I've been a xmarker and proud kilt wearer for just over a year. The one thing that has really surprised is that there are not more English members on here. It's great that kilt wearing is so popular worldwide, but I do get a tinge of jealousy reading about the various kilt group meet ups happening in America and Canada or wherever.

That being said, I will try my damndest to make it Harpenden this year. I wasn't able to make it last year, but judging from the pictures it looks like so much fun. It would be nice to meet fellow xmarkers in person too.

For anyone reading this who is going to Harpenden, I'll be the black guy with dreads in a kilt with fairly muscular arms on display! lol.
