Hi!
I am totally new here and love the Scottish culture...of course the kilts are amazing I also play Ukulele and was thinking of going up to Redmond, Oregon for a Uke festival July 18-21. Is Gresham anywhere near Redmond. This will be my fist time in OR. It would be great to check out the Highland Games as well!
Thanks!
Cathy

heh, no, Gresham is nowhere near Redmond. Gresham is tacked on to the east end of Portland. Redmond is a bit shy of three hours from here, just north of Bend.

Thanks, Bob!
Yeah...I just googled it...maybe a bit too far for a weekend trip. Maybe I will visit Portland this summer and wait for the Albuquerque Uke fest in the fall.
Cheers!

Well, if you do Cathy, be sure to coordinate with us here and we'll be happy to see you on the 19th, at least, at the games and activities here in the Portland area....

Ok! you kilted minions, The Portland Highland Games is only a week away......get your kilts ready, your balmorals out, and we'll see you there ( don't forget a camera also ).
As for you athletes that are going to compete, please let us know what day you're going to be there so we can come out and support you.....
Personal note - I, myself, am going to plan on being there on Saturday and I hope to make all the rounds, clan tents, vendors, pipers, dancers, athletes and let's plan on a XMTS meetup on Saturday.......

I have so much bloody sewing to do so *other* people can go to their Games that I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it. If I can clear a few more kilts out of my queue I'll be able to go, though I'll likely not be bringing a camera after all.
