I have a few photos I'll post later but I found this YouTube video taken by a UAV flying over the site. The video was posted by the Games organizers earlier today. http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=y...&v=w4KioD-n4vQ
It certainly provides an excellent viewpoint for the massed bands closing act.

Nice pictures Nathan! You're looking very sharp, my friend. The venue appears to be some sort of sports field. Is it soccer (football)? Where are the clan tents?

The venue's main purpose is the Highland Games. I'm not sure what else they use it for but this is the biggest event in the annual calendar for the town and there is a huge sign advertising the games year round. There were two clan buildings and it was set up more like a trade show with tables. There are only a few tents just adjacent to the clan buildings.
There is a track and you could certainly play soccer there. Perhaps it's big enough for a game of Canadian football too. I'm really not sure. I've never been there when the games weren't on.

A couple of additional pics to add to Nathan's collection. First, a photo of the 78th Fraser Highlanders military demonstration team, including drummer and piper:

Finally, a shot of the crowd prior to the arrival of the massed bands:
