The way I see it, he should only be carved into the lid in formal evening attire, if he, in fact, died in the evening. Otherwise, it's just improper.

Astounding detail, right down to the pleats lying on top of one another at the bottom of the kilt. They have accomplished in stone what some of the less reputable purveyors of Highland attire can't seem to achieve in wool or synthetic!
