42nd Coarse Kilt material with selvedge mark

I've just had a small run woven of Wilsons' 42nd tartan in their coarse kilt complete with black selvedge mark (an extended black band) from their 1819 Key Pattern Book.
Fantastic tartan in this sett size and shades. I'm even tempted myself.

On the back of organising 4yds for a re-enactor I had 20yds woven. So I've got some spare - not that I neeeeeed another kilt but I've always liked Wilsons' colours and settings of the 42nd.

That is one of the finest 42nd renderings that I've ever seen. The Wilson's colours are top notch in every example that I've seen.

Yes, single width 16oz material (£46.50 per yard) and no, not in the grease but still a good crisp handle.

Very nice, and tempting, but, like you, I have to ask myself if I reaaalllly neeeed another kilt, and, at almost $CAD 85 per yd. I'll have to pass.

In that colour scheme the set looks almost light enough to evoke the ancient Campbell rendering....
Jokes aside I like the khaki colour of the green in the Wilson's reproduction colours. Very nice indeed.
