Yes , My wife and I have done this for awhile now - I love the games and she loves vacation so it goes hand and hand.
I started hosting the Clan Ferguson tents for the south east US 3 years ago .so now we do the following:
May 10 2014 savannah GA games - 3 hours away -stay in hotel for 3 nights
May 30 2014 Glasgow KY games - 4 hours away -stay in hotel for 3 nights
June 14 -15 Blairsville Ga games - 2 hours away -one night in hotel
once Grandfather in July -hotel two nights
Sept 13 Ring gold games ( Chickamauga GA ) 2 hours away no hotel
Oct 4 North Alabama games - 3 hours away -one night in hotel
Oct 18-19 Stone Mt Ga games - 1 hours away ( home game ) no hotel
So yes , I love to follow the games and we make vacation out of it -but it begins to cost a lot of money so
we are rethinking it this year.

We'll start going to more next year if we can fit them into a busy family schedule. I am involved with two tents at this year's Capital District Scottish Games, coming up this weekend. We are already planning to head up to southeast Ontario next year for the Glengarry Highland Games in Maxville NY, Aug 31/July 1. I would early love to attend the Grandfather Mountain Games in NC, but probably not next year. I missed the ones in Syracuse NY last year, and really need to get that on the agenda. As long as it doesn't cut too much into the cost of highland garb...

@Mikilt I am glad to hear that buddy , I hope you have a great time at the games , every year I go into work in January and take the same days off for the whole year every year - I know the days at the beginning due to I follow the games
and take vacation to do it .
One day I want to retire ( lol ) and follow the games for a whole year .
It is said there is a game every week end some where in the US . I want to do that , a different games every week end .

My yearly routine of Highland Games consists of
Daylesford - 2.5 hrs away - stay overnight with friends
Maryborough - 3 hrs way - stay overnight with friends
Bendigo - 2hrs away - stay overnight with friends
Geelong - 2 hrs away
Victorian Pipe Band Campionships - 20 mins away
Ringwood - 30 mins away
and a couple of other Celtic weekend events if I am not overseas.
The above are all in the state of Victoria. I have been to interstate ones on the odd occassion

I get a mere two Games Days per year, one day at the Milwaukee Highland Games, and one at the Wisconsin Highland Games. I always seem to miss Chicago as it's almost always on Father's Day weekend, although this year's schedule was different I was doing some emergency home repairs (winter damage to the pavements that caused a leak in the basement).
