I must warn you, though a fine jousting opponent as you have proven to be, I have my late father-in-law's (Dr. Evans Harrington, former dean of the English Dept. at Ole Miss and co-founder of the Faulkner Conference and it's most eminent scholar) library at my disposal. I will if necessary refer to a map. Let us parlay a truce along the lines of this thread and declare, "money begged by those diseased or otherwise is forbidden." I tip my hat.

And a tip of the hat to you, too, especially for those excellent directions.

I have absolutely no connection to Faulkner beyond him being one of my favorite authors, along with Conrad and the Bronte sisters (or the Bell brothers). You have me at a complete disadvantage as I did not realize we were fencing - post, parry, riposte, and all that.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

An apology to those that Mookien and I have confused by our side-track of this treads subject. There are no clear directions to Frenchman's Bend (being a fictional place) even though a map is available in a Malcom Cowley book concerning William Faulkner's literature, it too is imaginary but based on real places. Somewhat akin to the claim from Kenya.

What Tarheel wrote. I plan to spend some time in the area now that I have a good map.
