Like many here, I'm a bit paunchy, although not as profoundly round as many. Nevertheless, a sporran strap only pulls in the front of the kilt emphasizing my less than ideal shape.
What can I do? Is there someway to get the "slimming" effect of sporran hangers when not wearing a kilt belt or should I jut go ahead an wear a kilt belt under my waist coats and sweaters?
I know one answer: lose weight, and I'm doing that but at my age, It's a battle with nature. The loses are coming more and more slowly.
Rubbish, you are using age as an excuse. I was 58 when I decided to loose weight before buying my first kilt. I lost 6 stone (45 kilos) in 10 months. If I can do it, anyone can. Determination and willpower, once you've been dieting a couple of weeks you get used to it and as you loose weight you can increase the amount of exercise you can do. If you want to know what I did to loose the weight I'd be happy to tell you.
