Beware of WPG repro BD. The quality and accuracy are all over the map. In fact, most repro BD out there are made with a really long waist (to suit modern taste) instead of the high waist as seen in the photo. This completely changes the silhouette. Unless you want to spend good money on a good repro BD (like Pantherstore in the CZ) buy a postwar Military surplus blouse.

I hear you. I just don't see any surplus denim on ebay. Is the Greek version a summer weight?

Yeah,
The denim appeals.
Also I'm nearly 6' 2" so finding the right size is tough. I have a bid in on a large post war Canadian version so we'll see if it fits.

Guinach,
Postwar Denims are identical to wartime Denims except for a small slit in the trousers, there is a Blouse Size 4 on Ebay right now for a pretty good price.

Sorry I'm late to this Karl. I see that you're in GA. I know that you consider the environment with your daily wear (first photos).
1) Great choice of shoes being durable and stylish. 2) I think that maybe silk vests (if they can be found) would also be cooler for the usual climate you have. 3) Wearing the sporran higher might require some trial and error but give it a try. I find the higher fit tends to give control to my attire (I am always physically active, even when kilted).
Nothing further for now and always ready for repartee.

I just noticed - to be accurate, the webbing belt should have the bars which go over the double part pushed up closer to the buckle.
I have had my one for 45 years now, and it started out painted black, before which it was painted white, below that it was was Blancoed, but it has been dismantled and scrubbed and polished from time to time and it is now grey. As far as I can see it remains undamaged except for the dents in the bars from where I wore it when caving and climbing.

I am late to the thread also, but on the line of pocket watches, which I wear daily, the traditional spot to hook it is one button from the top. This is based on a 5 or 6 button vest. A vest with goes higher and has more buttons would place the t-bar lower. This is assuming a 14-16 inch chain.

I get your point Hopper with the watch chain, t-bar and fob location on a vest with a higher (even second pocket) for the watch. His vest looks to be a conversion even custom made. Maybe for him, one button hole chin-ward for the t-bar would look more stylish, but is it practical for checking the time?

Actually, yes all my vests there is only one pocket on the right side, its at the bottom of the vest, a 14-16 inch chain creates the traditional image requested when worn at the higher button hole. Its possible to get the same affect with it on the middle button but a 14-16 in chain then catches the bottom of the vest when sitting. A shorter chain would work but is also not a traditional length. After all the chain is meant to be seen, its an accent piece much as a tie clip, tie tack, or cuff-links.
