    What a priceless (for humor's sake) question for any Southern chef. Even some Caviar, Pate and Sushi dishes need "a quick flash in the pan" if not prepared well.
    I know a few chefs here in Oxford that would howl with joy at the concept.

    My brother has prepared deep fried haggis balls on a couple of different occasions, once on a camping trip where they were a big hit. Can`t give details of the batter, but I don`t think it was anything unusual. Very tasty, but haggis is such a delicious dish to begin with, I think the deep frying is really just gilding the lily.

    The last time that I was in Scotland the only time that I saw haggis on a menu it was fried. I had it as an appetizer, solely because it was on the menu, and it was surprisingly bland.

    Heh, I had one with my fish and chips the other night. Great stuff but you have to eat them while still warm. Real heart attack material.
