I see that this six part series is not being shown here in Scotland nor in Northern Ireland which may explain why I had not heard of it.

I find this a little strange - it is scheduled on BBC2 Scotland and has been reviewed in the Scottish press. I hardly think the BBC would not show this major adaptation of a booker prize novel in Scotland. You may want to double check, but you can certainly check the costume point via i-player
