I was the organizer of January's kilt skate in Ottawa -- thanks to the 200 people who showed up in kilts, and those who showed up in similar kilt skates in Montreal, Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Calgary.
The Scottish Society of Ottawa helped set up skates in these five cities to celebrate the bicentennial of Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. We're trying to gauge interest as to whether we should make this an annual event.
Any thoughts?
Yours aye...
Good Lord man, if their can't be a kilted skate in Nova Scotia there shouldn't be one anywhere. We have a lovely and well used oval outdoor rink in the centre of the city perfect for such an event.

Excellent, brob2. We tried to find a partner to run the event in Halifax, but didn't get a response from the organizations we contacted. If we do another event for Sir John A's 201st birthday, I'll use this forum to reach you and other kilt skate enthusiasts.

I think that might be stretching the definition of the term 'city', particularly if it was an old film! But I'm sure it's a lovely town .
