Light weight Kilt Jacket...sources?

I have searched and found one of the fine folks that advertises/supports this site that carries a light weight day wear jacket but it is black only.
Has anyone a source for lightweight day wear jacket(s) in assorted colors?

I live in Az at 2600 ft....even the winters are nice and the summers are hot (as in hot). A linen or very lightweight would make a nice summer of winter jacket actually.


I've a great tweed (ebay.uk.) that is a middle of the winter 5k foot or above jacket. Does not cut it for any wear other than a storm front passing thru.

If I can't find anything I suspect that's the only alternative.....it is not humid (by law I have to say that) so that's a plus but you know the rest....I grew up on Lake Michigan so know the humidity deal.

After a nightmare of an ebay purchase process with the wrong item being shipped first, and then the shipping co. mixing up the order after over 5 months, I received a light weight jacket and vest from a Pakastani company Ajar Impex. I am very pleased with the jacket and vest, but had written off my purchase a couple of times. I had reasons for wanting a non black light weight jacket so persevered. If you are an impatient person, I would not recommend you go this route. I am but it tried my patience.

This is a picture right out of the box. I was already wearing the kilt, hose, shirt and even the hat. I think it works quite well, although this wasn't the kilt I had intended to wear it with.

Thanks Bruce but it appears they no longer carry the linen model just the imported wool type.

Thanks too Liam but that lightweight also appears to be woolen yes? Nice for Alberta I bet but not so much for Arizona. Looks good I might add.

Agreement with Mikilt. By the time it's summer, the spring / summer jackets are already on clearance. A conversion with your local tailor makes up the difference in price and erases the angst of mail-order.

Don't call the kilt kops, but personal preference is treating the tartan kilt as a pair of good trousers and just wearing any appropriate blazer or sport coat (lightweight wool, silk blend, broadcloth cotton)...heck, Steve Ashton does it and he's the ultimate in kilt-hip-cool-authoritative.

After all, back in the day, did anybody question James Dean when he rolled the hem of his blue jeans to make "cuffs" or slipped on a new white tee shirt as outerwear...and then tucked his pack of smokes under the left sleeve?
