Cold weather redux

I'm a runner and have several varieties of compression running tights at different lengths and different weights. I have recently worn a 3/4 length heavy weight (thick,warm 4 inches above knee) one under kilt, with tall thick wool socks to great success. It kept everything warm that I don't like to have cold and the cold on my knees actually felt like icing them which I do anyway to reduce the pain and swelling of a lifetime of abuse.

What brand are those? Sounds like a winner. I knew there was something I liked about the bare knees but couldn't quite put a finger on it--I've got bum knees and it does feel rather like icing. Cool. So to speak.
