I'm going to move the pockets for sure, I can narrow the cutout, it seemed too wide to me as well, I will work the curve in cardboard and see how it looks, the cutout may prove ok with the added material afforded by the curve

I opted to try and save the second button by slimming down the sporran cutout while drawing the curve.

It looks good! With Mikilt's suggestion about the pockets, it will be perfect. Although, it appears I will need to improve my wardrobe.

A give away for many conversions is that they are not double vented. I haven't seen the rear view of your jacket so I don't know if this is an issue.

It is a single center vent that is being sewn shut as it will be mostly gone anyway.

The conversion is done, I wore it to a Burns supper gathering of some of the Chicago rabble. I will post action pics as well as detail pics soon!
