I will say "bespoke." I made it. I picked up a nice piece of Campbell Ancient from HOE that was a fly plaid. I pulled out the pleating in the plaid and made a small sash for my wife as well as this from it.

Very nice. As a Campbell, I can certainl appreciate that. (I get stuk wearing BW too often because no one likes to keep the Campbell (A) on hand. I'll have to see about making one of these .

For this Kilted Friday, I kilted up in my Bill Sanderson (Tartan Hiker) Scottish Wildcat tartan Kingussie Kilt. After an uneventful work day (one approving gasp for a resident's daughter) I headed to a local brewery w/upscale restaurant, Spencer Devon.
I was joined at the bar by the Master Distillery of A Smith Bowman Distillery, Brian Prewitt. After a small chat with Brian, his wife complimented my kilt and said that she was thinking of buying him a Utilitkilt. I urged her to wait to 4/15 when 5.11 Tactical may again offer their kilt. She shared that she had actually had one in the Shopping Basket there last spring. Brian was over the moon with all of this. I told him I looked forward to seeing him kilted in the distillery.
On my way out I was stopped by a father and his adult son asking if I was Scottish. No, I'm American with Scottish ancestry. They said we are too, McBeans!. Finding they were local I told them about the local Scottish Society and tomorrow's Burns Night at the Fredericksburg Country Club.
A good Kilted Friday!

Went to a local big box sporting goods store for some new running shoes, while I was there a gentleman commented on my kilt. (Outfit - black polo shirt, gray hose and green 511 TDK) Asked where he could get one and I told him the 511 TDK story. He thought the story was a hoot about the April Fools joke. Gave him the web site so he could order one. It's great to be kilted on a Friday night!

After a two-Friday hiatus, it's Kilt Friday for me again. Sigh, it seems no matter how I try, I never seem to get a pic with my sporran aligned with my vest.

Looking sharp! And I feel ya - I can get the sporran centered but it always tends to tilt to one side.
