Of The Bard it is often writ
In commenting on the nature of wit
The author urged brevity
In delivering one's levity.
For this a limerick seems fit.

I bought a kilt that was cheap
Because my pockets weren't deep
Oh, how I wish
I had that swish
Bleepity, bleepity bleep

A word, a line or a sonnet
To liven my slog
I read this fine blog
And revel there's a limerick on it

Some people thought me a kook
Deserving of rebuke
Now I torment
With a new instrument
Because now I play the Uke!
