South Texas Newbie. Hello all.
My name is Harley Mathews.
I am 32 years old, and a first time wearer/owner, but alread addicted. I am a Geology major in south Texas, and am excited to utilize this forum.
I was introduced to the kilt as a young person into punk rock. Seeing bands like Flatfoot 56, Dropkick Murphy's, and others wear the kilt and raise fists high was inspiring. Singe then, some friends have been into the 'utility kilt' style, so for my 32 birthday I bought one. I am addicted now.
I am looking forward to meeting people interested in the kilt, and both learning the tradition and current uses of kilts.
With school demands, I am not sure how often I will be able to post, but reading up on some already, there is great conversations and fair disagreements, which is more than can be said on most spaces on the internet.
Thank you for allowing me here, and I hope to enjoy and maybe even enrich the community!

Hello, Harley, and welcome from Houston, TX. I spent most of my childhood in Corpus, and just recently went back to go to my high school reunion. I hope you like it here. There are some good Highland games/Celtic festivals in Texas.

Looked it up and shared it with some other kilt fans, plan to go and check it out! Great price for a great weekend. Thanks for the heads up!
