Stewart Black Modern Pleat to the Sett or the Stripe

I am looking to purchase my first Kilt in the Stewart Black Moadern Tartan. I am trying to decide to have it pleated to the sett or to the stripe? If the stripe which one?

Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated.
    Jim

I've found the best it to have the kiltmaker lay out some pleating options for you to see, either by photo or by visiting the shop. Its in the eye of the beholder, the rest is all opinion.

Modern Black Stewart tartan is commonly pleated to the white stripe - gives it a very different color across the back (reddish purple) than across the front. It's a popular pleating among bands. Scroll down to the photo at the following web site to see what it looks like:

I've always loved that tartan, I don't know why I've never bought a kilt in it....
