    I see that this is an asymmetrical pattern (the red stripe doesn't repeat equally on each side of the dark stripe). I suspect this would be fine for you to use, as I don't expect it is a clan tartan.

    If I am wrong about the clan affiliation I am sincerely sorry. I am still learning and only mean to assist.

    I thought that too at first, but while the pattern is asymmetrical, the warp and weft are still the same.

    It's a modern fashion tartan, definitely not a clan pattern and there would not be wrong for 18th century re-enacting. That said, the sett is unlike any surviving 18th century specimens.
