    I’ve used PV, and just cut it. I don’t think it would rip, like wool twill.

    Thanks, that was my thought, but read elsewhere that it was "harder to rip". I wasn't sure whether "harder" meant more force required or less likely to succeed without damaging the fabric.

    Cut it shall be then.

    As other have said you have to cut it. I don't even rip wool anymore. I have an old drafting table with a large cutting board. I use a rotary cutter. I also have a good shears that are only used on fabric. Either one works fine.
