I fancied having a go a sgian-making a few years ago, so bought the blade blanks, fitted antler handles, and formed the leather sheaths around the finished knife. I set a reticulated pattern sterling silver disc into the crown of one, and a simple cap on the other.
These form part of my usual kilted day-wear, and, being my own handiwork, I have no qualms about using them for their true purpose - not just as ornament, I mean.
Those look great. I've thought of doing this myself sometime in the future, but need to get some other things going first.
