I have not been camping for decades, but I do spend a lot of time outdoors, often in mud and water. If my brogues------not those dreadful ghillie things------ can't handle it then I retreat to my rubber wellingtons. I have done that for most of my life whilst kilted and the real plus is that wellingtons are easy to clean.
