    Looks like it fits perfectly.

You're not alone in disliking the fit of clothes originally designed for men- I've spent over 45 years in Pipe Bands and women are fairly unanimous in disliking (to put it mildly) wearing men's kilts, men's vests, and men's jackets.

One would think that with many Pipe Bands being half female nowadays that correctly fitting women's things would be widely available, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Oh and Ghillies. But men hate those just as much as the women do.

(BTW I'd not heard of a Billie Skirt until now.)

You could call your invention a Billie Kilt, which has a nice ring to it

There are existing companies which have been selling Billie kilts for at least 10 years, that I can think of. Here's one example:

    I didn't know about those!

And I thought I was clever

I'm still not to clear on what a "Billie Skirt" is, I guess I should look it up.

Okay, time to fess up. While I was the first of us to buy a kilt, my cousin, Boisepiper was the only one to take up the pipes. We both trace our Scottish lineage through our mothers (who were sisters) to our grqndfather whose own grandparents had emigrated from Scotland.

Yeah, that is why we were thinking of "skilt". Billie skirts, or billir kilts, are too short and have a yoke in the front.
