A stunning tartan, Richard. Congratulations on your newest addition. Will it displace your favored Stewart Hunting Weathered by Marton Mills?

The larger sett will go nicely with your guncheck tweed jacket. That beatiful jacket needs a simpler and larger sett tartan like this one. Really well done.

    Beautiful!

    Love the new kilt!

I lucked into a bargain Matt Newsome custom-weave kilt years ago and it remains one of favorites. So light and comfortable to wear.

Does your new kilt have two visible straps, or only one and a hidden strap inside?

Congratulations on a beautiful new kilt!

    Cheers,

    SM

Back in the day Matt created box-pleats for myself and my son (mine to sett, his to stripe), and also box-pleated tartn skirts for my wife and my daughter. Still going strong.

    Thanks!

This one doesn't have that 79th New York style hidden strap, it has the normal strap-through-the-slot thing on the left side.

Like all my kilts it just has one strap on each side. I've found that kilts don't hang right on me if they have that 2nd right-hand strap.

    Thanks!

I love the unique look of that Marton Mills tartan tweed, however that kilt actually too big for me now.

As we know the likelihood of finding somebody with my measurements who happens to want that specific cloth is pretty remote, so I probably can't get much for it.

Yes it would do but I've sold that jacket along with my other size 50 jackets, having shrunk a bit.
