Since I posted my list I have had the chance to see
Enter the Haggis live. All I can really say is Wow
They have such an energy that is difficult for a
recording to capture it.
If you like you Celtic music with a little rock in it, you will
love Enter the Haggis.

Silly Wizard and Bonnie Rideout
I went throught the lists a couple of times and don't believe I saw Silly Wizard. I love Silly Wizard and have a lot of their CDs. Another I didn't see here is Bonnie Rideout; in my opinion one of the greatest Scottish fiddle players alive! I have a few of her CDs and have been to a concert. Fantastic!!

By the way, Bonnie Rideout, the greatest (IMO) of Scottish fiddle players, is as American as American can be. I hope this irony is not lost on those posting on another thread concerning non-Scots and their ability to study and learn about tartans and kilts, as compared to those raised in a "Scottish household."
If you ever get a chance to go to a concert - don't think of it as a bunch of Brigadoonery. Go to the concert. She's fantastic!

Greatest living, perhaps, but the greatest by no means. I've some archival recordings of James Scott Skinner which blow me away 100 years after the tracks were first laid down. More recently, Johnny Cunningham (may God rest his soul) was a revelation to hear playing. Johnny was also a raconteur of the first water, and lots of fun to tip the odd brew back with.

They were a good group. They have now disbanded.
Two of the main members are now part of Rathkeltair.

PS take a look at their t-shirts.
I don't know who could design such a great shirt!
Do you Hank???

I'm surprised nobody's got Runrig or Donnie Munro on their shelves. I'd recommend, too, the CD produced by Coisir Lunnainn http://coisirlunnainn.org.uk - the London Gaelic Choir - after the last Mod in Perth.
