Unless I am dressing up for a formal, semi-formal or smart-casual event, when a sporran would be part of the 'outfit', or I am casually dressed but without any other garment with pockets, I do not wear a sporran! Except in the case of some kilted 'uniforms', the sporran is nothing more than a decorative pocket and, if I do not need it I do not wear it.
As far as Utilikilts are concerned: all my eleven Utilikilts except the solid leather one, have ample and capacious pockets rendering a sporran totally unnecessary.
No, I like to wear a sporran when custom or necessity dictates that I should. Otherwise - forget it!
