    UK's and Sporrans?

Anyone else wear a sporran with their UK's (or any other similar contemporary)? I own one solid olive green UK, with a new khaki on the way. Being generally a traditionalist, I usually wear a sporran with my UK despite the pockets. I guess I haven't gotten over my traditional view that a kilt isn't a kilt without a sporran. Just wondering what you guys thought. Thanks!

Unless a formal event, I'll usually wear such kilts as the Hillwalker and Gentleman's both of which have pockets without a sporran. Though in the main I'm very much a traditionalist.

It cuts down on the clutter, and in such cases there is no need for one.

I wear my brown Freelander Sporran with my brown leather Utilikilt because there is only one hip pocket for stuff.

Have ten other UKs in all models and just use the pockets on them.

Unless I am dressing up for a formal, semi-formal or smart-casual event, when a sporran would be part of the 'outfit', or I am casually dressed but without any other garment with pockets, I do not wear a sporran! Except in the case of some kilted 'uniforms', the sporran is nothing more than a decorative pocket and, if I do not need it I do not wear it.

As far as Utilikilts are concerned: all my eleven Utilikilts except the solid leather one, have ample and capacious pockets rendering a sporran totally unnecessary.

No, I like to wear a sporran when custom or necessity dictates that I should. Otherwise - forget it!

I wear the UtiliKilt for construction and working situations usually, so a sporran isn't really needed.

With that being said... when I'm at a Scottish or Irish festival, I'll wear a sporran just for grins. There's nothing in it... but it's there for looks only.
