I may take some folks up on that! And since I only have one or two guys willing to let me stick pins in them, I mean, in the fabric, around my house, I might be willing to trade kilts for fitting models.

Welcome Shay. There are quite a few aspiring kilt makers in your neck-of-the-woods right now. Looks easy... don't it?!

The Joanne's fabric that your husband's kilt was made out of is easy to work with, soft to the touch, and won't shrink too much. It was a wonderful starter material! If you would like a few sources of material around here (at prices that will make you grin from ear-to-ear) let me know.

Oh, I love Joann's, I've got nothing against them, we just call any generic plaid/pattern Mac Joann's. Every month I buy a huge fabric cut for 50% off thanks to their loverly coupons. If I start doing this on more than a by-request-of-friends basis, I know I'm going to have to go down to Fabric Row or someplace and buy a little more in bulk, but for now it's a lot less pressure to chuck the kids in the car (seven and one) and run down Rt 1 to the HUGE Joann's near my house.

PM me the info, though- you can never have too many resources!
