An Apology

Over in the thread on military kilts I used the term REMF.If anyone thought it was rude,offensive or bothered by it then I offer an apology. No offense was meant or intended.

that's the nice way of putting it. use your imagination for the more vulgar way of putting it by substituting "military forces" for something else.

its a term that was originally used derisively by troops "in the bush" for those who weren't on the front lines.

nowadays, people understand a bit more that those who were in the rear lines were actually contributing to the wear effort. it can, however, be taken as an insult by some depending on who is using it and how they mean it.
