While I did not personally have any problems with any of the postings in the Mississippi thread (the situations in the Gulf states are atrocious and bound to come up in conversation), I don't have a problem with the site moderator's (Hank is it?) decision to enforce the stated rules for this forum. I do respect the forum moderator's rules in respect to their forum, and it may just make for a better experience. I can not count the number of forums that I have left due to a poor "noise to signal (content) ratio. So far, and I am a NB, I have been impressed with this site and will continue to post, regardless if I agree with every censored or deleted post.
Having said that I agree with the moderator's right to delete or penalty box posts according to the FAQ's. I will have to determine for myself if I think that the rules are being applied consistently and fairly, or reflect the values and opinions of the moderators. I think that this is only fair given the broad authority given to the moderators under the rules of this forum.
On a side note, and it may get me banned, I have to say that Highlandtide's avatar is somewhat militaristic, to me, and whenever I see it, I feel like someone is looking over my shoulder, even though he has contributed to threads as himself and not with his moderator hat on.
In looking back at this, why are my posts always so long? Do I use to words that are too big, or just explain too much? I have always perceived myself as straightforward and to the point, but these posts feel like novels. Although, the printed word is much lengthier than the spoken.

KCW,
Since you are new here you might not know that Hank sells
Celtic/Scottish/Irish -(cool) T-shirts, Hats, etc.
Since Hank doesn’t plug his own site too often I will.
Here is the link to the Hat.

I own one of these, a bunch of shirts, and they are all sweet!

You know, I had not really looked closely at the avatar and did not realize it was the lion rampant until I followed Nelson's link! Very nice.

On track
I, for one, appreciate our mod's keeping the forum on track. I've been a member of too many forums that got off track and never found their way back.

Me too! I back Hank and the Moderators all the way (wherever that might be!)
