This happened to me when I was with my wife at a St. Paddy's party. A friend of ours, with no warning, grabbed the back of my kilt and lifted high enough for all to see. I turned quickly and when I saw who the lifter was I said quite calmly "Was it good for you?" and then offered her a smoke. She turned quite red and then tried to apologize. She finally blurted out that she would like to by me a drink and the incident passed with a Murphy's Irish Stout.
I'm not sure what I would have said if I didn't know her! I do like Andrew's comebacks.
Here's to lifting a pint and not a kilt!

Hasn't happened to me yet. But when I was visiting a local erotic expo where some women tried to lift my kilt. I didnt let them and later they came to ask if I have any underwear. I lifted the side of my kilt to show. They were satisfied without seeing my privates.
At the same place a bunch of guys came to ask "You know, kilts should have been wore without underwear." I lifted the side for them too to show I wear it regimental. They all gave me a hand ans said "tough guy!" "Keep it up!" and stuff like that. Felt really accepted.
I have decided to act in the situations like that with a humour and good spirit. Well, I wont lift even the side in a pub but that was an erotic expo... And I know people are curious about the kilts... It's not a normal everyday outfit in Finland x)
