    Welcome Ione,
Tell your DH that you have some new friends you'd like for him to meet and set him down in front of the computer. We'll take it from there. We will want to hear back from you, too.
    Best,
    V.J.

What a warm welcome! Thanks! I'm really looking forward to getting into the discussions on the board. I guess I should email my DH the link to give him a little push to get over here.

Thanks! I read much more than I post (trying not to invade the men's space here) and I have been learning a LOT (who knew there was so much to learn about kilts??? lol). You guys are great. I'm glad my husband has someplace he can come where people actually "get" why he loves his kilts.

Hi there Ione, let me welcome you also and say that your husband is blessed to have a wife so supportive of the kilt. Not all wives are like that, as you would see from these pages.

Lovely name too, makes me think of my favourite island (apart from Tasmania) - Iona. My wife and I were there in July.

I hope hubby will come in and say hi when he's ready.

    Welcome Ione,

Kilted in El Paso...now that's cool!!

Sounds like your DH could use a few knock around contemporary kilts. I've been able to buy a few just by tossing all my change in a bucket at the end of the day. Just took a bucket to a coin sorter machine at the supermarket and cashed out $160.

See many men come from traditional kilts to contemporary, just as many of us started with contemporary and moved to traditional.

This is a great board. Try the search engine on most anything and you'll be amazed at the knowledge here for free.

Graham, I'd never heard of Iona before, but it's nice to be associated with something positive! I hear Tasmania is beautiful, too. My parents were there for a visit not long ago and they loved it.

My husband is around here somewhere (his name is Grimm, he posts occasionally). Between classes and work he doesn't get much online time, but I suspect you'll see more of him once we get his new kilt ordered.

Ron, my husband is one of the traditional kilt lovers. We're thinking about going with a Stillwater standard, since that's what's going to be within our price range, but I'm hoping he'll give in to an Amerikilt eventually. Either way, I'm pleased that I can come here and do all my research!

Ione, any special reason you like the AK? I only ask because I got my first AK last week, and wore it this weekend when we went to the mall. My wife said she liked it better than my SWK's because it looked more manly and rugged and like nothing that a woman would wear. I was surprised because I don't think any kilt looks like something a woman would wear, but maybe you can provide another woman's perspective. Or any of the other ladies on the board?
